Guest Conductor _ Edmon Colomer Maestro Colomer has served as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra between 2008 and 2011. He has also been Artistic Director of the Eastern Music Festival in the United Sates of America, the Orchestre de Picardie in France, the Orquestra Simfònica de Balears, the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga in Spain. He appears regularly on radio and television broadcasts in Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea and North and South America. Several Prizes and Awards have been granted to his extensive recording activity with the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, English Chamber Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Orchestre de Picardie, the Choeur Radio France, the Orfeó Català and the BBC Symphony Chorus, released by Auvidis-Naïve, Assai, Harmonia Mundi, Calliope, Triton, Naxos, Ensayo, Virgin and Philips. De Falla ¡°Atlàntida¡±, Gerhard ¡°The Plague¡±, Poulenc ¡°Organ Concerto¡±, Bernstein ¡°Serenade¡±, and the ¡°Concierto de Aranjuez¡± with Paco de Lucía stand out as reference recordings. His catalogue also includes works by Balada, Beethoven, Brahms, Gershwin, Schumann, Fauré, Ginastera, Guinjoan, Honegger, Milhaud, Weill, Nillni and Lavista. Edmon Colomer often links his conducting career with music education. In 1983 the Spanish Ministry of Culture entrusted him the creation of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE) and in 2002 he was awarded ¡°Chevalier dans l¡¯ordre des palmes académiques¡± by the French Ministry of Culture. In 2021 he became curator of the Robert Gerhard Celebration in Catalonia. He appeared recently with the London Sinfonietta at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the Queen Elizabeth Hall of London with great critical acclaim.
