Guest Conductor _ Jin Suh Korean conductor Jin Suh studied at Hanns-Eisler School of Music in Berlin with Christian Ehwald, Hans-Dieter Baum and graduated cum laude. He has won numerous prizes including the 1st prize in the Donga Music Competition in the cello division. He was awarded with a ¡®Special Award¡¯ for contemporary music in Croatia¡¯s 4th Lovro von Matačić International Conducting Competition as a Korean for the first time. In 2007, he received an honorary diploma from Seoul Arts High School and in 2020, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded him the ¡®Today¡¯s Young Artist Award¡¯ for contributions to the development of culture and arts in Korea. Jin Suh was selected as one of four leading newcomer conductors conducting the Critical Orchestra. He conducted the Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne at the 130th Korea-France anniversary, the world premiere of the composer Jeajoon Rhy¡¯s Sinfonietta per Archi with The Best of the Ensemble OPUS, the North Czech Philharmonic, the Gorzowska Philharmonic, The Brandenburger Symphoniker, the Luebeck Symphony, the Zagreb Radio Broadcasting Orchestra, the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony, etc. In Korea, he has performed as a guest conductor in numerous orchestras including Seoul Philharmonic, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic, at the 35th-anniversary concert of KBS Classic FM, Korean Symphony, Daegu Philharmonic, the Best of the Ensemble OPUS, Jeju Philharmonic, Gwangju Philharmonic, Busan Philharmonic, and Korean Senior Symphony Orchestra. Jin Suh was the conductor of the Gwacheon Symphony Orchestra from 2014 until 2022. In 2019, he has released the album ¡®Rachmaninoff Symphony No.2 in e minor, Op. 27¡¯ with the Gwacheon Philharmonic Orchestra on <Sony Label>. Currently, Jin Suh is a Professor of the College of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Orchestral Instruments, Keimyung Unversity, Music Director of the Cross Chamber Orchestra, Music Director of Paju Heyri Art Village, Music Director of the Chamber Ensemble Able Music Group, and Honorary Ambassador of NGO BringUp International. |
