Austrian Soprano Brigitte Pinter studied upon personal recommendation of Maestro Claudio Abbado at the renowned Julliard School in New York. After her return to Europe Brigitte Pinter was a prize winner at the International Belvedere Competition in Vienna which led to a successful international career as a dramatic mezzo soprano. In 2007 Riccardo Muti invited her to Teatro alla Scala and subsequently they worked together at the Ravenna Festival, in New York, Rome and Vienna. In 2010 the artist completed her shift to the dramatic soprano repertory with her debut as Elektra in Richard Strauss¡¯ Elektra at ¡°Teatro La Fenice¡± in Venice with Eliahu Inbal. Since then the artist appeared in many dramatic soprano roles such as Isolde, Brünnhilde, Kundry, Venus, Elektra, Salome, Schoenbergs Erwartung at the musical centers of the world.

 

During the Wagner Year 2013 Brigitte Pinter gave her debut as Isolde in Wagners Tristan and Isolde at Teatro La Fenice in Venice with Maestro Myung-Wung Chung and Paul Curran highly acclaimed by audience and press and once again sang all Brünnhildes in Wagners Ring at Opera Bastille in Paris with Philippe Jordan and Günter Krämer ( videoclips) as well as Wagners Wesendoncklieder at the Konzerthaus Vienna. For her interpretation of the role of Io Inachis in Carl Orffs Prometheus in a new production with Peter Rundel and Lemi Poniofasio at the Ruhrtriennale the artist was awarded the special honorary price of the Carl Orff Foundation for her outstanding artistic performance (see press). In 2012 the artist appeared again with Maestro Muti at the Ravenna Festival in a new production of Hindemiths Sancta Susanna. She also sang the Foreign Princess in Rusalka with the New National Theatre in Tokyo an performed ¡°Das Lied von der Erde¡± at the Brucknerfest in Linz. The artist also gave her remarkable debut as Euridike in Kreneks Orpheus und Euridike at the Konzerthaus Berlin with Lothar Zagrosek. Press and audience were impressed by her rich colours, her thrilling high notes and her expressive, almost existential force. At Theatre Du Capitol in Toulouse Miss Pinter performed Frau in Arnold Schoenberg¡¯s Erwartung in a new production together with Anja Silia. Furthermore she sang Mahlers 8.Symphony at the Philharmonie Cologne.

 

In March 2014 Brigitte Pinter gave her acclaimed debut at Salle Pleyel in Paris with Wagners Wesendoncklieder along with Brünnhildes immolation scene from Götterdämmerung with Orchestra de la Conservatoire de Paris and Maestro Emmanuel Krivine. The artist gave her role debut as Marta in D¡¯Alberts Tiefland at the Oper Frankfurt with Johan Bohta as Pedro and Maestro Sebastian Weigle and her debut am Casa da Musica in Porto with excerpts of Wagners Ring (Brünnhilde). She also appeared at the Spring Festival in Tokyo as Brünnhilde in Wagners Walküre with Marek Janowski and the NHK Orchestra. In 2017 Miss Pinter gave her Debut at the Enescu Festival as Ursula in Mathis der Maler with Maestro Foster. Future plans include Schönbergs Erwartung at the new Philharmonie de Paris, Hindemiths Sancta Susanna with Maestro Muti, Wagners Liebestod and Immolation Scene with the Philharmonic of Slovenia and James Judd in Ljubljana, Opera Gala in the Philharmonie Köln and her ongoing Recital engagements. In Achim Freyers new ring cycle in Seoul 2019/20 Miss Pinter will perform all Brünnhildes.

Her repertory includes Elektra, Salome, Färberin, all Brünnhildes, Isolde, Kundry, Venus, Marie (Wozzeck), Turandot, Leonore (Fidelio), Verdis Requiem, Schönbergs Erwartung and Gurrelieder, Mahler Lieder and Symphonies, Strauss Vier Letzte Lieder, Wagner Wesendoncklieder, Beethovens Missa Solemnis, and many more.
