리더 & 호른 _ 후이 리 (Hui-Yi Lee)

타이완 타이베이에서 태어난 후이 리(Hui-Yi Lee)는 2018년부터 대전시립교향악단의 호른 수석주자로 활동하고 있다. 그녀는 타이완 국립 사범대학교의 Steve Chung을 사사하며 학사를 졸업하였고 같은 기간 타이페이 음악콩쿠르 호른 솔로1위입상과 전국음악콩쿠르 목관5중주 1위입상을 수여했다.

그 이후 음악의 저변을 더 넓히고자 미국으로 유학을 떠나고 2013년에 보스턴 대학 (Boston University) 에서 에릭 러스크 (Eric Ruske) 교수 지도하에 석사과정을 그리고 보스턴 교향악단 수석주자 제임스 섬머빌 (James Sommerville)과 조나단 멘키스 (Jonathan Menkis) 를 사사하며 뉴잉글랜드 음악원(New England Conservatory) 에서 연주자 과정을 수료했다. 2021년엔 다시 보스턴대학에서 박사과정을 마쳤다.  박사과정 중 미국의 예술가비자 (O- 1) 를 수여하였고 사라소타 오케스트라 (Sarasota Orchestra), 보스턴 필하모닉 (Boston Philharmonic), 뉴 월드 심포니 (New World Symphony) 그리고 타이완 국가 교향악단 (Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra)에서 객원주자로 활동하였다. 또한 여름시즌에는 Spoleto Festival USA, Aspen Music Festival 그리고 Asian Youth Orchestra에 전 장학생 펠로우로도 참석하였다. 

2016에서 2018년도 사이에 명성의 베르비에 페스티벌에서 (Verbier Festival Orchestra) 활동했고 샤를뒤트 와 (Charles Dutoit) 가 지휘한 슈트라우스의 오페라 “살로메” 공연에 수석주자로 연주했다. 그 외에도 활발한 연주를 하며 정경화, 다닐 트리포노프 (Danill Trifonov), 예브게니키신 (Evgeny Kissin), 조슈아벨 (Joshua Bell), 야니네얀센 (Janine Jansen), 장-에프랑바부제 (Jean-Efflam Bavouzet), 레오니다스카바코스 (Leonidas Kavakos), 마틴프 로스트 (Martin Frost), 미샤마이스키(Mischa Maisky), 미하일플레트네프 (Mikhail Pletnev), 세르게이나카리아코 프 (Sergei Nakariakov), 유자왕 (Yuja Wang) 등 세계 정상급의 솔로이스트들을 비롯하여 발레리 게르기예프 (Valery Gergiev), 샤를뒤트와 (Charles Dutoit), 가보르타카치나지 (Gabor Takacs-Nagy), 마이클 틸슨 토마스 (Michael Tilson Thomas), 크리스토프 에센바흐 (Christoph Eschenbach), 이반 피셔 (Ivan Fischer), 파보 예르비 (Paavo Jarvi), 안토니오 파파노 (Antonio Pappano), 지안안드레아 노세다 (Gianandrea Noseda), 에사 페카 살로넨 (Esa- Pekka Salonen), 다니엘 하딩 (Daniel Harding) 등 저명한 지휘자들과 함께 무대에 올랐다. 후이리는 지금도 대만국 가양청원, 뉴욕의 카네기홀, 보스턴 심포니홀, 워싱턴 케네디센터, 도쿄 오페라 하우스 등 세계 굴지의 무대를 누비며 활발한 연주 활동을 하고 있다. 대전시립교향악단 외에 마카오 오케스트라(Macao Orchestra)에서 객원주자로 그리고 서울시립교향악단에서 객원 수석 주자로 활동하고 있다.

Hui-Yi Lee 李慧怡 became the Principal Horn of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2018. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Hui-Yi began studying piano at age 4 and the horn at the age of nine. She won the First Prize in the 2007 Horn Solo CompeLLon in Taipei and the First Prize in the NaLonal Woodwind Chamber CompeLLon in 2010.  Hui-Yi received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University in 2021 under the tutelage of Professor Eric Ruske and James Sommerville of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She received her Bachelor of Music degree at the NaLonal Taiwan Normal University under the instrucLon of Steve Chuang 莊思遠, and Master of Music degree at the Boston University in 2013. AXer graduaLon, Hui-Yi extended her studies for Performance Diploma at the New England Conservatory where she studied with Richard Sebring and Johnathan Menkis.

In the United States, Hui-Yi Lee was the Co-principal Horn of the Boston Chamber Symphony during the 2015-16 season. She was invited to perform with the Sarasota Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, and NaLonal Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan. During the summers she has parLcipated as a fellow in the Spoleto FesLval USA, Aspen Music FesLval, and Asian Youth Orchestra. From 2016 to 2018, Hui-Yi was the horn fellow of the Verbier FesLval Orchestra in Switzerland. The numerous world-class conductors that she worked with include Valery Gergiev, Paavo Järvi, Charles Dutoit, Iván Fischer, Christoph Eschenbach, Antonio Pappano, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Gianandrea Noseda, Gabor Takacs-Nagy, and Michael Tilson Thomas. AXer moving to South Korea, she had cooperated with Macao Orchestra in 2019-20, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra as a guest principal horn.
